Welcome
Message From Our President
It’s been a busy 3 months for our club. Between World Congress planning and two sold out meetings, we’re well on our way to positioning NY SKAL as the leader in the NY travel industry. Special thanks to Upstairs at The Kimberly for a fantastic kickoff event in January, and to Bruce Beckham from Tourism Cares, who spoke at our February meeting about their upcoming May event, “Tourism Cares for New York City” happening in Coney Island. I hope to see many of you there supporting this New York landmark.
We are pleased to confirm that Phloeun Prim, Director of Cambodia Living Arts and the Season of Cambodia Festival (taking place in NYC from April – June), will be our March 28th guest speaker at Trattoria Dell’Arte. The festival is being organized by Cambodian Living Arts, a Cambodia-based non-profit that works to facilitate the transformation of Cambodia, and will feature the art, music, dance, and film of Cambodia. You can learn more about CLA at www.cambodianlivingarts.org and the Season of Cambodia festival at www.seasonofcambodia.org. Register today at www.nyskal.com.
The Board is excited to shake things up a bit this year, and will be bringing you a mixture of luncheons and evening mixers, as well as a Summer Kick-Off Pool Party and BBQ, sponsored by Pullman Rail Journeys and hosted at The Travel Inn. If you’re interested in sponsoring one of our events or have an idea for a guest speaker, please email us at president@nyskal.com.
And last but not least, are you registered for the SKAL World Congress? With over 800 Skalleagues from around the world already registered, we have less than 100 cabins available. Visit www.skal2013worldcongress.com for more information.
We thank you for your support, and look forward to a successful 2013!
Best regards and SKAL!
Lisa Conway
2013 President
